Actually, I am familiar with very few people who teach Wing Chun. Therefore, I cannot tell you whether the tri-pole form is commonly taught. I can tell you that it rather difficult to set up the tri-pole dummy. It involves digging three 18-inch deep holes inside the house or school, plus a fair amount of space is required in order work with the form. So, I can see how many people might be dissuaded from bothering.

What you have seen in the photographs on the web site is most likely the double knife dummy. It will hit you from the top and below, and it also hits you from both sides. While it is simply made, it still packs a wallop and very fast.
