First of all I need to let you know I did not learn Wing Chun from Ip Ching but from his father, Yip Man. I learned Wing Chun long before he came to Hong Kong to join his father.I don't know this person, he wasn't there while I learned Wing Chun. He was in China. Now to you questions. Learning from a book is impossible because there are no motions there. Learning from a tape is a possibility but once in a while you have to have someone to guide you. My suggestion is in the meantime you try a tape with a good begining in fundamentals (Vol 1). See how you like it. If you like it continue with the others.
