I don't speak English, but I want to tell something about my views of
VT (WT WC VC). In Europe and in Germany respectively there are a lot
of schools and sifus which come from the modified wing chun (wing
tsun) the most. Even the publication of photographs of Yip Man didn't
further the 'truth', it's still the same. Many consider wing chun to
be a complex painting only the artist knows, the onlooker can only
express his own interpretation of what he sees.
The developers of this system weren't able to describe wing chun with
European science like Yip Man was. So the system was passed on by
word of mouth metaphysically up to Yip Man, who combined the bio-
mechanical knowledge of the predecessors and the European physics
and discovered, that movements can be calculated.
The human yearning for individuality didn't allow to generalize
wing chun, because not every man sees the same sense in a movement or
    technique.
In Yip Man's lifetime only a few knew about the chain punch and Yip
Man sent his disciples to fight only armed with this weapon. 80% of
the wing chun system is based on punching and one can suppose that
only a few basic principles work in a fight.
Question: "Why does everyone argue about techniques, nobody would use
    in a fight?"
A welltrained karateka is better. If someone is a real fighter, the
method isn't important, what matters is that it's effective. But the
art in wing chun isn't to build up good fighters, but to show
realistic fighting to person, who have a pacifistic attitude, that
they can use not only theoretically.
Finally I want to say, that the organization "Non Classical Ving Tsun
Germany" is there for everyone, who only wants to practise wing chun
without justifying the former learned things, because today it's
usual to hold students responsible for having learned something
    wrong.
I work together with five different schools, who meet each other and
exchange experiences. Every interested person can contact us but
everything is private and non-political. We only want to practise,
    practise and practise. Telephone +49 2166 851353
I wish all the best to all the wing chun enthusiasts and please
    excuse my faults. Thanks.
    Yours
    Dirk Hellwig

I would like your opinion on something which has bugged me for quite a while. Why at the end of the second form {i am takeing it that yours is the same as mine,if it is not then let me know}when you perform the last kick, why do you only use the
left leg and not repeat it with the right as with all the other movements? It would be quite easy to
use the right as well.I will if you do not mind as an attempt to generate healthy conversation
respond to these answers. All the best Jim.

I have long been envious of the Kendo students because of the easy access to high quality swords, 440 surgical steel or better. When I look for butterfly sword what I find is not much better than tin and could never hold an edge. Does anyone know where I can find high quality Butterfly swords? Also, I always see pictures of old samari swords. Has anyone seen any pictures of old butterfly swords on the Web or anywhere else?
